Queen Latifah
Dana Elaine Owens, better known as Queen Latifah in America, is an actress and rapper. Queen Latifah is an American rapper, actress and performer. Queen Latifah's parents were Lancelot as well as Rita Owens. They were both police officers. Rita was a Newark New Jersey teacher who worked in Irvington High School. The couple divorced when Latifah was age of 10 years old. Latifah was born and brought up in Newark New Jersey attended Catholic schools in Newark. Latifah refers to gentle and gentle. Her mother gave it to her when she was eight years old. Latifah is a very tall, 5'10" girl who was on the high school basketball team. She sang the song"Home" from The musical The Wiz in a high school play. Latifah was a member of Ladies Fresh, a rap group which launched her career in beatboxing. Latifah was one of the founding members of the model of the Flavor Unit which at that time was a crew of MCs grouped around producer DJ Mark the 45 King. Mark James aka the DJ Mark the 40 King recorded an example of the hip-hop Princess of the Posse by Queen Latifah. Then he gave it to Yo! MTV Raps Faddy. The track caught the attention to Tommy Boy Music employee Dante Ross who signed Latifah and in 1988 issued her debut single Wrath of My Madness.
