Selena Y Los Dinos began to be formed in the year 1981. The band was the family business and the main source of income for the Quintanilla family. Quintanilla was determined, despite having little money in early on. They worked towards becoming a successful family-run band. Selena Y Los Dinos achieved fame throughout the western states in the late 1980s. Selena, the lead singer in the group won two Awards in the Tejano Awards in 1987: Female Singer of the Year and the Performer. Selena Y Los Dinos became popular and well-known following this moment. They have appeared in many Spanish television shows like El Show De Johnny Canales - Siempre En Domingo and Sabado Gigante.
